Goodbye Miep

One of my great inspirations and colleague Miep Jukkema has passed away on July 7th, 2012. On May 17, 2012, she was committed to hospital. She had been found in her car along the highway and had suffered a CVA (Cerebral Vascular Accident — also known as a ‘stroke’). During her fifth week in hospital she developed pneumonia and had a second brain stem stroke, with no hope of recovery left. She finally died at 13.40 hrs on July 7th, 2012, peacefully and serene.

Her career spanned over a quarter of a century and she has been an inspiration to a whole generation of photographers, many of whom learned the trade at her side.

She will be remembered for her sparkling vision and personality. And the love she unselfishly spread around…

Rooigem

At Uipkes you buy wood flooring. Other interior pieces are sold at special places! Rooigem is such place. They specialise in rare and eclectic furniture and decorative objects, often of grand-scale and from across europe.

Their constantly changing stock is housed in their house just outside medieval Bruges, in addition to a shop, 15min away in the seaside town of Knokke-le-Zoute. They furnish your interior with a mix of objects and styles to create a real and personal home.

Design chairs

When visiting the blog of Lille Lykke I came across this beautiful production of Danish design chairs by Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz and Kasper Salto. I love how Ditte Isager photographed the chairs with the dark grey and brown colours and the contrast with clean lines of the chairs and the loose decorations with all the wooden elements.








Op de site van Lille Lykke kwam ik deze prachtige reportage van Deense design stoelen tegen, gefotografeerd door de Deense fotografe Ditte Isager. Genomen uit collecties van Arne Jacobsen, Cecilie Manz en Kasper Salto. Mooi hoe ze het strakke design tegenover de papieren paperassen en warm grijs en bruin in combinatie met hout elementen heeft gefotografeerd.
