Mai Pen Rai

A view years ago we booked 2 tickets Bangkok, by accident (or was it faith?) we ended up at Koh Phangan's Mai Pen Rai bungalows. We instantly fell in love with the beautiful beach, the very simple but sufficient bungalows & back to basic attitude. A real great place to escape from busy life and stress. 

In 2008 we returned to Mai Pen Rai and got married on the beach in front of the restaurant so for us this is a MUST GO place!

Matka vase

We love the vases from Studio Pepe Heykoop. Matka Vase is designed using recycled matka’s (stainless steel water carriers) and scrap leather. Therefore, every single vase contains a unique and personal story both of its previous owner and the person who gave it new life and use. Matka Vase has just recently gone into production and proceeds from sales are partly used to send street children to school. 








Pepe Heykoop studeerde af aan Design Academy Eindhoven in 2008 met A Restless Chairacter en Lightness of Being. Deze ontwerpen staan symbool voor de grillige, spannende objecten die hij vanaf dat moment in zijn eigen studio is gaan maken.

De ‘Matka’-vaas is Pepe Heykoops reactie op de enorme hoeveelheid leren afval in de meubelindustrie. De vazen worden met de hand gemaakt door ambachtslieden in India waarvan de opbrengst deels naar schoolprojecten gaat.
