buisjes & beugels

21.11.13

Kellie started designing kids fashion collections, which were a great succes, as she won the Kèk Trend Awards 2006 with her second collection. After three years she delivered her collections to 45 countries worldwide.

In 2007 the Buisjes En Beugels +++ webshop was launched. And soon Kellie started to add 'guest labels' to her assortment. More and more unique and personal labels, which she found via internet, were added and the webshop became more and more succesfull.

Because Kellie is originally a product designer she desired more and more back to design products next to fashion. In 2009 she designed INSEKT desk, in 2011 it was ready to be launched on the international market and in 2013 it became the IMM Interior Innovation Award Winner!. We cannot think of BB+++ now without thinking of INSEKT!

Her muses are her sons Elvis & Djek, who are her dress models and sometimes do small jobs, like stamping the envelops or selecting the boys clothes while buying new season. Her husband is her ever mirror and mental support. In 2012 the webshop is redesigned and lots of new labels are introduced. Kellie's heart is with her family, beautiful designed products, fashion, interior, plants & flowers, photography and many more.......

Forest-like Beauty

2.3.13

This forest-like beauty salon in Osaka has birch trees wedged between the floor and ceiling

Named Onico, the hair and nail salon was designed by Japanese architect Ryo Isobe. The architect imagined the space as a woodland filled with antique objects and other curiosities, including a stuffed owl. "Our client likes DIY and he makes many objects and furniture by himself," said Isobe. "So we made the space as if it is a treasure hunt in the woods." - via denzeen

Ride by Lana del Rey

1.3.13

“I was in the winter of my life ― and the men I met along the road were my only summer. At night I fell asleep with visions of myself dancing and laughing and crying with them.
Three years down the line of being on an endless world tour and my memories of them were the only things that sustained me, and my only real happy times. I was a singer, not a very popular one, who once had dreams of becoming a beautiful poet ― but upon an unfortunate series of events, saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on over and over again ― sparkling and broken. But I didn’t really mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it to know what true freedom is.

When the people I used to know found out what I had been doing, how I had been living ― they asked me why. But there’s no use in talking to people who have a home, they have no idea what it’s like to seek safety in other people, for home to be wherever you lie your head.

I was always an unusual girl, my mother told me I had a chameleon soul. No moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality. Just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean. And if I said that I didn’t plan for it to turn out this way, I’d be lying ― because I was born to be the other woman. I belonged to no one ― who belonged to everyone, who had nothing ― who wanted everything with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about ― and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.” – to be continued…

The Levels lamps are made in three parts that stack inside each other for transportation but can be assembled without tools. The folded-over rim of each part allows the shades to hang from each other. Different sizes of shade can be combined in various configurations and they come in three colours: white, grey and copper. One of the exhibitors at the interior design fair Maison et Objet in Paris was the Italian Seletti. Although I wouldn’t buy it for my own home, I do like a lot of their designs. It is different, daring, and out-of-the-box. They repurpose artifacts, provoke, reinterpret, and mix art with function. Here are a few of their designs I saw at the fair. Some photos are taken by myself at Maison et Objet, others are courtesy of Seletti.
